Sharon is currently an instructional media designer for the eLearning Division of Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. She has previously taught ESL in higher education and in intensive English programs for 13 years. In the last three years of her teaching, she used a flipped classroom approach for her writing/grammar classes. She has also taught an online course for a TEFL certificate program designed specifically for Mexican teachers. She has served as the newsletter for the Intercultural Communication Interest Section for TESOL International (2018-2020) and she currently serves as the ICIS community manager. Her current areas of interest and research are intercultural communication, open educational resources, instructional design, and online learning. Outside of teaching English and TESOL, she creates content for two YouTube channels: a cooking channel that she and her husband work on together (called Our Final Freezer) and a channel for intermediate English learners (called Lucky Frog English).
